    1. It really did catch me by surprise! I didn't realize the technology was already in use then.

For whatever reason, a then-contemporary article about the technical aspects of the1975-1976 TV version of The Invisible Man really stuck in my head; it was all about the use of blue screen and the blue costumes — like this — that David McCallum had to wear to achieve some of the "invisible" effects. I'm not sure when blue screen turned to green screen but I suspect modern computers liked green more.
