I don't know about you, but this is pretty damn racist to me.
The only thing I see wrong with it is what Carol Channing used to bemoan... people wanted her to break into "Hello Dolly" but she didn't even know the words. The song is ABOUT Dolly, not meant to be sung BY her!! Jayne's wig and get-up are sensational. We really cannot apply the throat-clutching PC standards of today to entertainment from fifty years ago. As the daughter of missionaries in China, I doubt that Ms. M. intended any deliberate ill towards those people.
Like the appeal of Miss Meadows and Mr. Allen, this number harks back to an era that ended long before this originally aired.
The word "musty" comes to mind.
