    1. I think the most I'd allow is that she waxes Dalidesque. A brave attempt.

The whole thing just serves as a reminder that, whether one can approve of all her choices, Rafaella Carrà is in fact a highly skilled performer.

    2. You are quite right. I guess what I meant was I've seen Dalida do the same moves in a similar costume, though of course on her it all seemed natural and part of her performance vocabulary, whereas on ONJ it's all very tentative.

  2. A Bob Mackie (I presume) bodysuit, a ginger cowboy and opening notes only a dog could fully hear! Bliss.

    1. I love how that one woman's signature move is running her hand through her poodle perm!

  3. WOW! How did I never see this? I know (knew) about three of the male dancers in this (the queeniest ones, although that may not narrow it down enough). That sort of glittery melting man suit doesn't do ONJ many favors, but I was most distracted by the sensible heels. We wouldn't want her to hurt herself, and I know that height was very 80s, but they looked so...comfort stride. Thanks for the Xanadu memories, Thom!

  5. While that ONJ jumpsuit is weirdly on trend at the moment (evidence: Jessie J at the Brits), I'm most disturbed by the blue leather pants worn by the "man" in couple #2. Just disturbed.
