1. Where are Lucinda Dickey and Boogaloo Shrimp?2. I just discovered Shabba Doo was in the Lockers, along with Fred "Rerun" Berry and Toni Basil. (And thus the link to Bette Midler.)3. "The Break." It's Proustian. I can't hear that song without smelling poppers.4. Pink spats!
As usual, Vance, you've brought up some valid points. (And I think you've mentioned spats before!)I, for one, would like to see Mr. Doo shabba on into Cleo Laine's living room and get the old girl off the couch!
Spats always merit a mention.
i'm impressed that you continued to watch after hearing, "jayne & i recently discovered..."
As this blog has proven time and again, I'm a glutton for punishment!
I remember some sort of history game show where Steve was host and Jayne would come out in a historical look and join a panel so us dumb, at-home viewers could learn some historical tidbit. For some reason, it runs in my mind as something in the same time frame of the Bicentennial Minute. I recount this only because I found Steve and Jayne unentertaining then and -- based on this clip -- my opinion hasn't shifted.
I am not a Steve Allen fan, which is why he rarely shows up here. The same can be said for Bob Hope.
This was sort of like "A Parisian in America" or something. I wonder what Gene Kelly thought if he was home watching... VanceMan, Look! --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meeting_of_Minds
