  1. Wow. I truly did not know that Joe Gage directed a musical version of Cruising, let alone one set to the greatest hits of Romberg and Hammerstein...

  2. Tom of Finland meets Peter Gennaro. And loses. Jx

PS I'm not sure which is my favourite Joe Gage film title - "Uncle Pruitt Taught Me How To Do It", "Blue Collar Beer Blast" or "Jack-Off Party at Billy-Bob's"...

  3. 1. God bless the costume designer who thought, "What will sell this number is a heart patch on her ass."

    2. I always assumed Streisand's overwrought version of "Stouthearted Men" was designed to be jukebox favorite in gay bars; now I'm convinced that it was.

    3. This may now be my favorite black leather / driving musical production, surpassing even Kate Bush.

    4. Is there nothing to which Lady Gaga's team hasn't "paid homage"? (cf. Born This Way cover). (That may be a coincidence, but I'm doubtful.)

    5. Lily Tomlin on a motor bike singing "Born to be Wild" (in, I think, her Sold Out special comes to mind ... in a very good way, of course.
