So. Much. Cocaine.
Hands-down, all-time favorite Carpenters moment. The audacity and beauty of this has so many levels, it's simply astounding -- and years ahead of Fleetwood Mac's attempt at marching band pop. (I invite anyone and everyone over to my house for cocktails to listen to the 5.1 surround mix of this for total insanity.)
Yay! Total insanity!!
even in ridiculous crap, she still sounded wonderful.such a shame.
Ah yes.......Karen meets Klaatu.Take me to your leader........
One of my favorite things is to be confronted with a song from my childhood that I had COMPLETELY forgotten existed and this is one of them. I don't think it got much airtime back in the day, but hearing it now brought back a flash-flood memory of it. Thanks for sharing it!! A very unusual song for them, indeed.
I never heard this in the seventies, and can only imagine what it might have been like for a child to hear!
Surprisingly, this song was huge over here. Truly, utterly bewildering... Jx
I kept thinking of Bette Midlers Art or Bust tour which I loved, but was kind of freaky. I also thought of those old flyers I used to see about that said "Are You Curious About Yourself?"BrianB
This must have been written back when she took up smoking weed and compulsively listening to Yes albums...
