I just finished reading Burt Reynolds' autobiography (don't judge), and therein he relates a story about working with Raquel on "100 Rifles." He wasn't a huge star yet, and was impressed when Raquel invited him to ride in her private jet on the way to the first shooting location. He gets on board and she immediately tells him to sit in the back, which he does, watching as she pushes a reporter who had tried to follow Burt onto the plane. Pushes him completely off the plane down to the tarmac. Then tells the captain to take off immediately. The moral of this story is never assault a reporter when you have the chance to assault Burt Reynolds.
I somehow imagined this is EXACTLY what Miss Welch's life was like - right down to cavorting with leather queens in the worst gay disco in town. Jx
I know someone was walking around that leather / subway set singing, "I'll Take the Gay Train."
I worship her.
I can not comment on your other fabulous blogs so I found this on. Oh my have you busy creating the most wonderful, truly wonderfuls things. Times like this I wish you lived next door so we could really talk!!!! Kevin
OMG! I've been away from this site too long! So many new things to catch up on. Re: Raquel Welch, never let it be said that you can't isolate, delineate, and read each and every 8-count segment of choreography she has been taught. You can practically see her lips go "five...six...seven...kick, one...two...three...look..."
The scary thing is that I found myself counting the damned beats with her, but I have to admit that the girl is game!
So. Much. Raquel. She really was a single threat, wasn't she?
i'm still thrilling to how she was recently used in the, 'let's have a kiki" video.muthafuckah.
Has anyone seen Thom? Gosh, you don't think this was the Raquel video that finally caused him to crack up, do you? I always figured he was made of stronger stuff. Let's hope he's recovering somewhere quiet and serene.
It's true, Miss Welch gently pushed me over the edge. Such an event was inevitable...
As long at it wasn't over the edge of a plane...
