    1. You mean the Lennon Sisters?

    2. No, no, no ... the Lennon Sisters were Satan's concubines. How incredibly racist that the token black employee was dressed as the devil. Can't make him a Scarecrow, or Peter Pan? No, gotta make him be mean, old nasty evil Satan. I'd have made that costume more "interesting" by reversing the bottom so that the tail hung down in the front! That'd give all those old blue-hair-rinse grannies in the audience something to dream about.

    3. HA!

If you are the same Anonymous person who's been writing so many wonderful comments here lately, might I suggest signing a name of some sort? Otherwise we'll just assume you're Anastasia Beaverhausen.

  6. My goodness - some lucky crew member certainly had fun at a props warehouse for that ep. I want to know where the bandstand-fronting masks came from, and I'm guessing that fainting couch first saw the light of day in a Theda Bara picture...

  7. Back on the "Land of a Thousand Dances" post, with Bobby, whatzername and the fringe, I had almost posted that I thought it was the best thing ever. I'm glad I held myself back, because, this, really, this is the best thing ever! I'm am however full of shame that both of these clips are from The Lawrence Welk Show.

  8. What in the hell?!! That's a Divine mask, second bandstand front from the right (next to Peter Lorre)!

I can hear one of the old biddies in the audience, "Mable, look at the eyebrows on that mask, second from the right! You would look fabulous with that shape, it would do something for you!"

    1. One of the old biddies in the audience? Or in your head?

    2. More like the old biddie in my mirror!

It wouldn't be Halloween without sitting back and enjoying this.

  9. Oh my God, I'm watching the Lawrence Welk Halloween show from 1975 and Arthur Duncan is doing this same Ole Devil Moon number, this time costumed as an astronaut on the moon! The poor guy just couldn't get a break could he?

  10. My Halloween tradition! Only this year, in this clip I imagine Trumps face painted on the floor with Satan dancing all over it!
