My favourite piece of kitsch TV - EVER!!! Jx
It was an incredible convergence of starpower and cheese, the likes of which the world will never see again.
That was so fa-bu I needed smelling salts after that. The Love Boat kitchen didn't have any aluminum foil remaining to cover leftovers after those costumes were made.
And god knows there was a lot of ham!
Fabulous. Ann Miller's hair simply had a life of it's own....
That wig deserves top billing.
This is up there in the "sooo bad it's fabulous" with Poor Little Rich Girls, Scruples and Lace! I am guessing that when Ethel came in for hair and makeup, the stylist wept and curled up into a fetal position!
It's certainly fabulous, but I don't know that it's "so bad..." There's an awful lot of talent there, and they're just goofing around (although, as always Annie gives it her all - she really is the One Who Believed when it came to stardom) and getting well paid for it. It's cheesy and a million miles from Broadway - but it also assumes the audience is in on the joke.Amazing to think that two of them are still with us. As, I'm sure, is Ann's wig (it may well still be touring in a revival of Sugar Babies, for all I know).
good lord, looks like Merman was wheeled out there...
