At approximately 1:02...Where Disco meets goose-stepping.
Yeah, that's what creeps me out .. the stomping-sound combined with the goose-stepping, stark scenery and dark uniforms all uncomfortably blend together in a Nuremberg-rally sort of way.
It is a tad Fascist, but I still love it!
This DEFINES fabulous! :-)
I, too, am wild for this. The fact that I have no idea what's going on only adds to it.
Fabulous - I ran into this a few years ago and went to far more trouble than I'm used to finding an mp3 to illegally download. It's been in heavy rotation ever since. I love fake English.
I've been a fan of this for a few years, as well, and even tried to convince a friend of mine to remix it. The music is quite timeless!
Raffaella at her greatest, wow. Here´s a selection of videos I did for a blog, with a Raffaella amazingly absurd choreography http://www.alegriaydecision.com/blog/2011/08/playlist-agosto-fran-san/
She's fantastic here! Thanks for the link, that's a crazy video. I love it!
I'd worship at the feet of Raffaella Carra, but for the fact she keeps bloody moving them! This is, without doubt, one of the campest things on earth... Jx
When one labels something with "This is pretty much my favorite thing thing EVER," you hope it will deliver and BOY does this EVER! :-) Fabulous!
Yay! I'm so glad you think so, Dean!
It was driving me crazy trying to understand the words. Then I thought it might actually be in another language but I couldn't figure out which one because it sounded like English!
It does sound quite plausible, doesn't it? Though I have no proof of it, I always thought he was doing a sort of riff on Dylan.
This is GREAT..... But who is he?......
He is Adriano Celentano, and the fabulous blonde is Raffaella Carra. They're terrific!
Nobody does a Neo-Contemporary Hootenanny like the Italians!BrianB
Just discovered that this is available as a download via Amazon.comhttp://www.amazon.com/dp/B007U3UGY0/
Yay! It really should be a dance club hit!
As soon as I see those groovy Gestapo safety gays, well, my heart just melts. And a harmonica, sort of from no where! As they say, "All rite."
The continued presence of this masterpiece almost - almost - makes up for the tragic disappearance from the YouTubes of another treasured landmark, Biba Nova.
I have the two "Rock Follies" series on DVD. Shame I don't have the tech savvy to extract that clip to remedy the loss... Jx
If I had the time and the energy, I'd save every video I post here to my own YouTube account! But that's far more effort than I am capable of making at this point. Any number of great clips have disappeared. One can only hope they will reappear. In the meantime, there's always Raffaella!
Oh, Jon - if only indeed. I really am jonesing for a dose of that London '70s/Deco/Eyeliner glamour....
The ticking in the background made me think a bomb was about to go off . . . but then the totally faux harmonica solo made me laugh so must I stopped worrying.
If you haven't seen it, I recommend watch Adriano Celentano's performance of L'Unica Chance. The song is great and the guest dancer is Lola Falana!!
Thanks for the recommendation!
