Liza Minnelli - Bad Girls

In honor of Liza's birthday, and for your viewing pleasure, we are re-posting this classic clip. It's one of our favorite things in the history of the world. If you've seen it before, it's worth revisiting. If you've never seen it, you really must!

  1. I have never been convinced that Minelli does not know that she isn't really a tranny. I think that sentence is a triple negative, but I'm loaded so I can't fix it. Figure it out.

  2. I love anything with dancing whores.

  3. You just know she practiced those disco moves at Studio 54...including the slow motion sequence.

  4. Ha! She probably wore those same outfits!

(At first I thought you wrote "slow motion sequins", which, of course, also would apply.)

  5. Why can't today's entertainers inspire young women to aspire to the professions like this?

    1. How,oh how is it possible that we didn't see then what we see now? No, I WANT TO KNOW! It is freaking me out!

    2. One wonders, if on the Gest honeymoon night, she kept repeating, "Keep 'em together, Minnelli." Of course, it's very likely that David wasn't even in the same room.

  7. Clearly not Fosse... indeed, far, far away from his edge and energy... but Liza hits the poses and gamely tries to convince that there's more here than meets the eye.

Sorry. It's the ex-choreographer talking. The red mist descended. (Literally, in this case.) Those girls were not working the steps. I would have marked their report cards 'Needs to try harder.'

    1. I love this precisely because it is the way it is. It's so very...Liza! Wrong in all the right ways, right in all the wrong ways...The fact that she's even doing this song cracks me up. I mean, what on earth were they thinking? Or, rather, how much coke were they doing??

  8. I'm having difficulty getting this video to play! I downloaded it onto my computer and it works fine, just not on YouTube. Damn! Is it working for anyone else?

  9. Legendary. This weekend I will celebrate Vincente's ability to lie back and think of England by drinking cake-flavored vodka and watching my VHS copy of "Stepping Out." You are all invited over.
