Cher, Tina Turner, and KATE SMITH

This actually happened.

  1. I am amazed Tina wanted to dance next to Kate Smith, especially as her greatest hit was:

"Someone had to pick the cotton,
Someone had to pick the corn,
Someone had to slave and be able to sing,
    That's why darkies were born."

  2. I'm amazed by Kate's tremendous wig!

Actually, at least here in the U.S., Miss Smith's greatest hit was "God Bless America", an equally archaic tune.

  4. Hey Jude, I saw you nude. Now don't you fake it, I saw you naked.

  5. As soon as I saw the set, I remembered watching this when it first aired.

And 30-ish years later, my first thought is the same:
I'd pay cash money to see Cher or Tina say, 'kick it, Granny!' to Kate.

    1. I'm certain I watched this when it first aired, too. What does this say about us?
